If your Mac is freezing or running very slowly you can disable the agent causing the problems following steps below:

Click Mac HD
System
Library
UserEventplugins
Highlight the AppleHIDMouseAgent.plugin and delete
Reboot your computer

This will unload the HIDAgent hogging your resources. (Bug) This may affect SDLMAME as well.
